Patrick Sobrak-Seaton

Product Designer & Design Engineer

I'm a designer from the California Bay Area, living in Berlin, Germany since 2017. Currently helping to create new planetary perspectives at UP42. There, I lead design for satellite tasking, own the design system end‑to‑end, and guide the shift to AI‑accelerated design.

UP42

Senior Product Designer 2022–Present

A geospatial platform unifying dozens of satellite imagery providers and formats for enterprise mapping and analysis.

  • Douglas Design System

Tokenized, accessible design system: designed in Figma, built in React, adopted across design, engineering, and marketing

  • Proposed Tasking Images

Solving a long-standing problem by letting customers decide on off-spec satellite captures on the platform, as opposed to via email

  • Vaudai

A vendored overlay for AI-first design teams, with live‑preview design options and annotations that pin to DOM elements

Liberate Science

Product Designer 2019–2022

An open-science publishing startup funded by the Shuttleworth Foundation and supported by the Mozilla Foundation. As its founding designer, I grounded the product in user research and iterative testing from day one.
